Stella is Carrick Wines' very own Australian Shepherd. She starts her day every morning at dawn with a walk of the vineyard. She loves people and a good scratch.

Stella is the proud mother of nine, that's right nine, purebred Australian Shepherd pups. They were born on April 25, 2012 and are all doing very well. There are eight girls and one boy named Lewy.

Stella and the pups are joined again this year by Elvira and her friends. They are Canadian Arcott sheep and have been hired to assist in removing lower grape leaves.This will increase the air circulation and the amount of light the fruit will receive, ensuring even ripening.

The sheep have had some additions this spring as well. The first lambs this year were twins.
